6_beamont_1Although I travel often, most of the time, I have the privilege of being able to take my daughter on the road with me. I love spending as much time as I possibly can with her. Her bag is always packed, and she always has a smile on her face saying, “I’m ready to go Mommy!”

A few weeks ago we traveled to Beaumont, TX for the Gigi’s Cupcakes 3rd Anniversary Celebration.  We were greeted with big smiles by our friendly Gigi’s Beaumont family.  They are doing such an amazing job there, and I absolutely loved being with the Beaumont community and getting to know them better.

During our busy day at the store, my daughter, who is four-years-old, put on her small pink apron and said, “OK, what can I do?”  She then proceeded that question with, “Mommy, can I be the boss someday?”   While giggling, I scooped her up in my arms, gave her a big hug and said, “If you work really hard in your life, then yes, someday you can be a boss no matter what you decide to do.”

Instantly, she went over and picked up a broom and said, “Ok, Mommy. I will start with sweeping the floor.” My heart filled with pride at the sight of her not only helping, but genuinely wanting to help. She found such joy in knowing she could make a difference.  There is truly power and pride in hard work.

I am so blessed to have this amazing, hard-working, little girl in my life.  She encourages me, and motivates me to work hard to make my dreams come true.  I learn something new from her every day.

Blessings,

Gigi
