power-of-yesThe past few weeks have been so busy and special at the cupcake shop!  I had the honor of baking cookies with Debbi Fields, the founder of Mrs. Fields Cookies. We have become friends in the last couple of months introduced by a mutual friend and getting to know her has been such a delight.

This big world of ours can often become such a small world and in Nashville there isn’t really six degrees of separation, it’s more like two degrees!    Debbi has recently moved to Nashville and needed a place to bake her cookies for an event that she was speaking at, so I said yes, she could bake her famous cookies at Gigi’s.

The event was a fundraiser for The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee entitled “The Power of the Purse” and Debbi was the keynote speaker.  She gave everyone one of her delicious cookies as a take-a-way.  Her message was all about the power in saying “YES!”  As I sat there and listened to her speak, I was so glad that I had said YES to Debbi. I read her book years ago and have always looked up to this amazing cookie lady.  I have also modeled some of my business practices after her.  Years later, and because I said YES, I’m blessed to now call her my friend.  She has amazing energy with a kindness and passion that makes her glow and that’s something that I aspire to.

I’m so thankful for the relationships, friendships and mentors I’ve had along my journey.  Its women like Debbi who inspire me to be the best I can be and continue to grow my business.

Wishing you all a wonderful and prosperous week!
