If I had to pick one place to vacation for the rest of my days, it would be my favorite place in the world, Seaside, Florida. Since my daughter was a newborn, our big vacation each year that we look forward to is Seaside. I cannot begin to count the wonderful memories we’ve made along the shore of the beach, and every year, it just gets better. The beach, the colorful houses and the restaurants are nothing short of paradise. It’s the best place to recharge our batteries.
While it’s hard to pick my favorite tradition with my daughter, every day, she and I hop on our bikes and pedal all the way down to our favorite snow cone food truck, Frost Bites. It’s the best snow cone shop on the beach! I am a total snow cone connoisseur, so trust me when I say, they are the best! I dream about these snow cones during the year.
Every day we go, and every day we try a different flavor. My daughter’s favorite is Watermelon and Blue Raspberry, which never fails to result in a “What color is my tongue, Mom?”
One of my favorite selections is “Lime in the Coconut,” which never fails to result in the song stuck in my head. I am in absolute heaven with every sweet, icy spoonful. I realize it’s the simple things in life that can make us happy when I think about my love of snow cones.
Who knows, someday I may retire, move to Seaside and work at Frost Bites creating every snow cone flavor I can think of. You never know, stranger things have happened. For now, I’ll just stick to my day job. Until next year at Seaside!
