I have always loved the county fair.  Growing up in small town, going to the fair was the highlight of our year.  I will always remember participating in the 4-H animal contests or cheering for my mom as she won a blue ribbon for one of her amazing vegetables or one of her delicious baked goods.  Some of my favorite childhood memories are at the fair on a hot, August night.

When I formed my first band at 18, a huge part of our touring schedule was singing at county fairs.  We would perform our show and eat a late night dinner of fair food – some of my favorite foods!  Who doesn’t love turkey legs and snow cones?

Years later, I still love everything about the fair.  I now get to share this joy with my daughter.  We have gone since she was two months old, and we look forward to it every year.  It has become a tradition to spend our fair night with our dear family friends.  This year, I watched my daughter have an absolute blast with her best friend.  We rode the carousel, ate fair food and pet the animals.  It brought me so much excitement and joy to create such priceless memories with her.  The fair is one of summer’s best joys!

Blessings,

Gigi
