"'We forgot that freedom isn’t free' by Gigi"
On the morning of November 5th, I found myself wide awake at 4 a.m., anxiously awaiting the election results. It was a feeling of tension like no other, praying for a victory that felt so critical. When the news finally came, it was overwhelming: a win for Trump, and I haven’t felt such joy and relief in years. The stakes this time felt even higher than in 2016, as so much seemed at risk for the country we grew up in.
The pandemic opened our eyes to the freedoms and values we had taken for granted. Suddenly, everything was uncertain—our safety, our livelihoods, and even our rights. We had grown complacent, forgetting that freedom requires constant vigilance.
But as a community, especially through the guidance of powerful leaders, many of us began to stand up, speak out, and pray fervently. There’s been a surge of people waking up, realizing it’s time to take action, not just for ourselves but for the future of this nation.
I feel proud to be a part of this time, standing alongside others who believe in what this country stands for. It’s a humbling experience to witness Americans speaking out and demanding change.
Reflecting on Psalms 40, it feels particularly timely. It speaks of patiently waiting on the Lord, trusting in His deliverance, and feeling His presence even in times of hardship. Through all the challenges, He remains our strength, our help, and our hope.
